Inside our 50,000 m² Qalyub facility

Montana

Three IQF freezers, three batch freezers, four cold stores with 15,000-ton capacity — the largest freezing capacity in the Middle East.

Montana's vertically integrated facility sits on 50,000 m² of agricultural land 20 km up the Cairo–Alex Agricultural Road in Qalyub. The site processes around 35,000 tonnes of raw material — vegetables and fruits — annually.

At the heart of the operation are three IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) tunnels and three batch freezers, giving Montana the largest and most modern freezing capacity in the Middle East. The IQF process drops the temperature of each piece of produce to -18 °C in minutes, locking in texture, color, and nutrition.

Four cold stores hold 15,000 tonnes total — split between raw material awaiting processing and finished frozen product awaiting export. The storage process is contracted to our sister company Maamoun Cold Stores, which handles fleet, refrigeration, and logistics for the wider Maamoun Brothers Group (founded 1909).

Most agricultural input comes from DACO, another sister company, which supplies the bulk of our raw vegetables and fruits. Packaging is handled by PILCO — a third sister company that produces Montana's custom bags and cartons. This three-company structure means Montana controls the entire chain from soil to shelf.
