Vine leaves: tender, pre-blanched and ready to roll
Young grape leaves picked at the right tenderness and blanched, so the only work left is the part you enjoy — the rolling.
Stuffed vine leaves — mahshi warak enab — are a centrepiece of Egyptian and Levantine tables, and the hardest part has always been the leaf itself: sourcing it young enough, then cleaning and blanching dozens of them before you can even start cooking.
Montana takes that work off your hands. We pick the leaves young, when they're tender and pliable, then wash and blanch them so they arrive soft, intact and ready to fill. They keep their natural slight tartness and roll without tearing. Open the pack, separate the leaves, and go straight to stuffing.
For the diaspora especially, this is a product that makes a labour-intensive tradition possible on a weeknight — and brings a dish that says "celebration" within reach all year, not just when fresh leaves are briefly in season.
